A Brief Overview and Course Objective of IQRA’

The six books of IQRA’ were specifically developed by Ustaz Haji As’ad Humam as an aid to learn to recite the Quran in a short space of time.  The IQRA’ method emphasises  the phonetic method of teaching. These books were edited by the Ministry of Education  Malaysia and approved for use in all Primary, certain Secondary and Institutions throughout the Country. It is also used in all the ASEAN countries.

For maximum benefit from this teaching system, Please do not hasten through the lessons. Concentrate on the basics of letter recognition and correct pronunciation as per the example. At the end of book 1 there is an assessment page that should be read fluently, without hesitation and with correct pronunciation, BEFORE proceeding to Book 2.

Similarly at the end of book 2 there is an assessment page that should be read fluently, without hesitation and with correct pronunciation, BEFORE proceeding to Book 3.

By concentrating on the basics in the first 3 books of Iqra, subsequent lessons in books 4,5 and 6 will be greatly simplified and at the end of book 6 the student would be able to recite anywhere in the Quraan with Fluency and Tajweed, Insha-Allah.

Jazaak-Allah Ghairan.
